Hello!

I’m Emily Jessee, a writer, poet, and photographer. After spending years working myself through school with my job as a professional photographer, I recently earned my B.A. in English. My written work typically surrounds themes of personal politicization, unpacking American romanticism within our current zeitgeist, gender identity, and violence against women, amongst many others. With my photography work, I use primarily film format, focusing on my personal experiences behind the lens to attach meaning around the chaos of everyday life.

My series,  Longing For A Memory, was taken the day I found out about my grandfather's death, in an attempt to capture the sorrow and nostalgia I felt with a house that I grew up in.
